A Nepali love song made in Dartford has become one of the most-used sounds on Nepali TikTok, with more than 355,000 videos created using it.

"Sudur Aba Dur Nai" was written, composed and produced by independent artist Shakti Ghimire. It was first shared on TikTok on 28 January 2026, and the original upload has since passed 1.1 million views.

From a two-line hook to a full song

The song began as a short poetic hook associated with Balen Shah. Ghimire expanded it into a full composition, working through several versions of the melody, lyrics and arrangement before release. Its themes are love, separation and the pull of home across distance, which helped it travel from Nepal to Nepali communities around the world.

A human and AI collaboration

The track is a human and AI collaboration rather than an AI-generated song. Ghimire wrote and composed it, while AI tools provided by his company, Himal Tech, supported the experimentation and production work.

How far it has travelled

The sound spread through creators, singers and public figures before it reached playlists. Videos using it by Nepali politicians and performers have drawn millions of views on TikTok and Facebook, and a YouTube Shorts cut passed one million views. The song is distributed through CD Baby and is available on more than 150 platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. The figures are as of early September 2026.

In the press

The song has been covered by Nepali national and diaspora outlets, and by Dartford Living magazine, which ran a full-page feature in its June 2026 issue on how a Dartford SEO specialist created a global Nepali hit.
